Patch Panel

Professional Network Organization and Management

The patch panel is a key component in structured cabling infrastructures.

It allows different sections of the network to be connected and organized in an orderly way, simplifying management, maintenance and system expansion.

Typically equipped with 24 front RJ45 ports (depending on the model), the patch panel allows termination of horizontal cabling on the rear side, making the connections available on the front side.

Connections between patch panels and active devices (switches, routers, servers) or other patch panels are made using patch cords.

Centralization and Operational Flexibility

Structured cabling allows, through the patch panel, to:

  • logically group lines by area, function or department
  • simplify testing and certification
  • streamline maintenance operations
  • quickly reconfigure the network
  • monitor and interconnect different infrastructure sections

Using patch panels increases operational flexibility and reduces the risk of errors during technical interventions.
